Dudes, Man Up By Getting Girly

Okay, I get it. I have two little girls (9 and 7), so I completely understand. I am swimming in ribbon and glitter over here. But it's getting a little old hearing dads of daughters complain or make jokes about losing their "man-card" for, say, going with their daughters shopping for clothes or to get cupcakes. We don't need to "rescue" you from watching princess movies and taking part in tea parties.

Man up, dudes.

Indulging and cultivating femininity in your daughters is one of the manliest things you can do for them.

I agree, no sense missing all that fun (daughters are more fun than sons, sorry).

Having said that, my first thought was that your wife just bought you a pair of skinny jeans, and you were attempting some self-justification before being seen in public in them.

Heehee...I'm just sitting here thinking about me and my four boys. And although they love it when Mom is dressed up girlie for church (they tell me I'm "looking Gooooood") they really like it that I wear Chucks and lift weights and tell 'em to man up, too. ;D

I totally do that kind of stuff with my daughter.

As for the man-card thing, I'd never take away a dude's man card for say, getting a manicure because his daughter's there and wants daddy to get one.

Now, if he gets one completely without his daughter there...well...

I raised 3 daughters. Bought them 'girly' things, and taught them to play sports too. They all can change a tire and they all are as elegant and feminine as their mother.

I enjoy, even now that they are adults, shopping with them and for them. And I will hold their purse while they try stuff on. Man card has nothing to do with it. (Caveat: I will never take my oldest daughter shopping for a swimming suit again. Not a man card issue, an issue of how best to spend one's entire afternoon and evening and...)

Thanks for the good word Jared

Your wife will totally think you are hot if she walks in to find you having a tea party with your daughter.

Skinny jeans would be pretty awesome on Jared....bwahahahahaha

I get really irritated when parents complain about their kids. Kids are a treasure.

We've been blessed with two girls and two boys. Wouldn't trade any of them!

I let my niece paint my toenails once. Completely forgot about it until I was undressing at the men's locker room at my gym......
