Funny, I had the same thought about 2 weeks ago when a Christian friend came close to being laid off. His was the human response, adding, "I've done so many good things for God lately. Why would He allow this?"
It made me realise we never question the deservedness of blessings. Would any of us ever say, "Oh, no. Thanks God, but I can't take this blessing because I didn't earn it."? It's a very convicting issue.
