Abiding is a perfect way to describe a praying life. For example, many Christians who are thinking of buying a vacation home might even pray, asking God practical questions, such as "Can we afford it?" "Will it be too much work?" "Should we make an offer on this house?" These are good questions. But we seldom ask God heart questions such as "Will a second home elevate us above people?" "Will it isolate us?" In the first set of questions, God is your financial adviser. In the second set, he has become your Lord. You are abiding.Michael is talking about "abiding" today too.
And some schmuck wrote a book about it.

I think the question should be will this help build the Kingdom of God in some way?
Schmuck (pejorative), an insulting term for a stupid person or dimwitted fool or an unwanted guest.
Why would you use that word?
Scot, it was an attempt at self-deprecation. The schmuck who wrote that book is me.
Jared's my favorite schmuck.
In all seriousness, (and don't let it go to your head, boyo) Jared - your posts lately have been awesome. Each one smacks me in the face (in a good way, or at least a way I need to be smacked).
Great stuff. Love this!
