This post will probably appeal to approximately 2 of my readers, and I can probably name them. :-) But I couldn't pass up the nostalgia from my high school days.
Anybody remember The Prayer Chain? Not only the best "Christian rock band" of the 90s but one of the best rock bands of that decade period, and I mean that. It doesn't matter that you've never heard of them.
This is them live with my favorite of their songs.
I was sad when they broke up. Last I heard lead singer Tim Taber was doing producing and directing for Vineyard Music Group's worship albums, and the other guys are still playing in various bands (Starflyer 59, Cush, etc.)

I have to admit that I had never heard of The Prayer Chain, although that is a totally cool band name.
I don't know if this interests you, but I just found out Grammatrain is back together and working on a new album. I order the pre-release edition with five songs on it. I'm not sure how that will turn out, but they were my favorite band of the 90's.
Of course I know The Prayer Chain. Shawl rocked. I love Wayne Everett & Andrew Prickett.
I saw Prickett live with The Violet Burning (Michael Pritzl), another seminal 90's Christian rock band.
However, Starflyer 59 was/is my favorite Christian band. Blue Collar Love Song FTW.
Man I remember prayer chain. Really cool stuff. I wasn't into them as much as The Blamed, Blenderhead, Focused, Stavesacre, and Plankeye, but these guys were cool too.

Dude, listening to that took me back to late nights at my house in Auburn listening to these guys, the violet burning, luxury, starflyer 59 and plankeye. We were so rad.
Mercury is such a cool album.

We did see them live, I think twice. A third time was, yeah, ixnayed when I started puking during the opening act (which I think was Plankeye).
They were a great live band.
One of my favorite shows EVER was The Prayer Chain and The 77's. Two incredible bands, both incredible live.
Awesome. I miss them. Used to watch Brimstone Chronicles just to catch their videos.
Count me as one of the two. This song was awesome, their sets a Cornerstone were muddy and frantic, and the whole Shawl album is one of those albums I wish every CCM Rock band today listened to as a prerequisite.

Shawl was/is an incredible album. I remember thinking, "Wow! I ought to play this for all those Pantera T-shirt wearing guys at school who think that all Christians make Sandy Patti music! This would show em!"
