Almost every day I see the teenage brother and sister who live next door to us as they exit their bus after school. I leave the house to get my girls from the elementary school as their bus is dropping them at the corner, so just about every day I see them step off the bus and make the (about) 40 yard walk to their house.
They make this short walk on opposite sides of the street from each other.
A brother and sister, one year apart, maybe two. They get off the bus together. They go to the same door. But they don't make that walk together.
Every time I see this, it makes me sad.

There was a time when I couldn't stand to be in the same room as my younger sister (year and a half difference). Now, I bug her when she doesn't email me fast enough.
Andrew, how old were you when you couldn't stand to be in the room?
How long did that time last?, I mean.
Is it just a teenage thing? :-/
I think I was like 12 when it was at its worst. I think I was 15 when I stopped disliking her.
If it makes you feel better, Molly and Bethany always seemed to get along okay, even as teenagers.
i have hope that it will work out someday. it's hard being teen.
That's not too odd for teenage siblings. There was a short time in junior high when I was horrid to my sister when at school, but she was my best friend at home. I learned later that I really hurt her and it took a hard conversation (from her to me) and some humbling on my part to realize that I needed to ask for her forgiveness. It makes me sad thinking about it because we've always been the best of friends.
