Good stuff, Jared. As a church planter, I am often asked "How's the church going?" or "Is the church growing?"...either of which can usually be translated (and are often followed up with) "How many people are coming?" Even when folks aren't looking for a "numbers" answer, I am tempted to answer in numerical terms.
But I've begun to answer this way (because it's true): "You know, we are growing...all of us are growing in our individual relationships with Jesus, we're growing closer together as a church community, and we're all learning to pray for and pursue the people in our personal mission fields."
