Witherington Eviscerates Pagan Christianity

Remember that book Pagan Christianity by Frank Viola and George Barna? It made quite a splash as it argued that nearly everything we do in and for church these days is unbiblical and unhistorical. Em-church fanboys ruined their copies with drool.

Several good minds have already documented the problems with the book's claims, but now no less than Ben Witherington has reviewed it. Which is to say, he puts the scholarly smackdown on it. Read it here.

Witherington's review has been discredited by another scholar. You can read all four parts at http://www.paganchristianity.org/zensresponds1.htm

The postlude is coming soon, it says.

Any moment, a PC fanboy is going to show up telling you to read Jon Zens smackdown of BWIII. I wouldn't bother. It ain't one.

Haha! Moderation is a funny thing. And Bill, your powers of prediction are uncanny.

Yeah, Zens review of the review is weak.

I'm noticing also that the same link is getting planted on every mention of this subject. Borders on drive-by or spamming, IMO, which just isn't very good PR for the PC fanboys.
