Read the Bible Like You Mean It

Preachers, when you read or quote Scripture in your messages, read it like you mean it.

Are you as motivated, as energetic, as impassioned, as invested, as dynamic when reading Scripture as you are when you're conveying your points or exposition?

How will you expect your listeners to regard God's Word as meaningful, convicting, awesome, and transformational if you do not read it with any sense of awe or drama?

You might ask, Isn't this just performing?

It is if you're faking it.

I've never been much for asking random volunteers to read scripture each sunday, as is the custom at my church... they rarely give much thought to what they're reading, much less have read it beforehand... in fact, a monotone reading of scripture almost makes me angry...
