Outings Bittersweet

This morning David McLemore (Element's administrative director) and I got a chance to meet with Ray Ortlund for coffee. What a great encouragement that time was.
We talked about life, the gospel, and ministry, which we happily found practically synonymous for us.
Lots of people offer encouragement, but the most valuable encouragement comes from a place of wisdom and experience. Dr. Ortlund is gracious and generous with his time, and David and I are so grateful to spend some of it with him this morning. It's a joy to get to know in real life a pastor further along in the radical life of proclaiming and embodying the gospel.

Ray also had some kind words about the blog. So thanks for reading, Ray, and thanks very, very much for this morning.

:-)

On a bitter note, now I'm taking Grace to enroll for kindergarten in the fall. Dada is not happy about this milestone.

We have to do the kindergarten registration thing for our oldest in two weeks. I read and re-read everything, realizing what a change this all is. It is definitely a bittersweet time.

Thank YOU, Jared. It was a delight to be with you both today. And what a great blog!
