It occurred to me yesterday (for the first time -- I'm slow :-), that many within the Church today who decry preaching as outdated, irrelevant, and/or ineffective have agreed with Paul that preaching is "foolishness" but disagreed with him that it is God's prescription anyway.
The foolishness of preaching is a scandal.
