70x7

I know it is very, very difficult to forgive.

At some point, your "inability" to forgive becomes less and less the fault of the person who wronged or hurt you and more and more your choice.

Angry person, when we withhold forgiveness from others, we reckon ourselves better than God.

jared,

thanks for this simple reminder. I feel that I was recently wronged by someone and have become aware of how i can use that as an excuse to not be merciful. I'm reminded of a great quote someone once shared with George Stephanopoulos - "People will remember more how you handle this than that it happened to you." Great insight. I've also been reflecting on the fact that *I* don't want justice for my sins. I want mercy! And so I must give mercy. I'm also discovering that forgiveness is not a one-time decision. When you feel you've been really wronged, forgiveness is a discipline.

Yep. I've learned this too. And I have to re-learn it constantly.

Thanks for commenting, Stephen.
