Timing is Everything

Just an "fyi" for anybody out there who ever feels compelled to approach your pastor/teacher/worship leader with a critique of the service:

Even if you consider your critique "just suggestions," two seconds after the service has ended is not the right time.

Glad it's not just me.

Somehow, there's an opportunity for us to help others grow in grace. I'm still looking to see how that works.

It is definitely a grace-testing moment for those on the receiving end, isn't it? :-)

Nod, smile, say thanks for the suggestion and you'll definitely think about it.

Most people mean very well and are just zealous to "help."

Never compelled to do that right after usually too busy breaking stuff down. I might say good job if I liked it. I know that my minister hears from others because he likes to shake things up a bit.

I had a minor critique for my pastor on Sunday. Something he said rubbed me the wrong way. Despite the fact that he's ridiculously humble and approachable, I kept my pie hole shut.

The way I see it, he's a human and he's going to say some human things. I'm sure he gets plenty of crap on a weekly basis. I don't feel compelled to add to it.

Bird, if what he said wasn't something doctrinally questionable or personally really offensive, I think your graceful response is to be commended.
