Many of my long-time readers know that I am a writer. I am a writer with an agent but no publishing contract.
My field has been book-length fiction, despite publishing a few non-fiction short pieces, and I am still about midway through my third novel project. But I wanted to also mention that I have begun in earnest an expansion of an Element message series called Old School Jesus. This is my "Jesus book," in many ways the culmination of the last seven years of my life.
I will probably not call it Old School Jesus, but like the messages, the chapters in the book will each explore a different role, portrait, or accomplishment of Jesus Christ, with particular attention to the original context and meaning of the Gospels.
And as all my writing of this sort must be, it is consciously gospel-driven.
At my current rate, I should have a submittable draft by the end of the month. I appreciate your prayers as I tackle this important project. I will likely be contacting some of you personally to perhaps review it for me before I hand it off to my agent.
