I should have said "the Lordship debate" or something like that. To be clear, I'm saying it's error to believe there are some people who are saved with Jesus as Savior but not Lord yet, and the people who accept him as Lord are now in some kind of Saved 2.0. :-)Jaredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07454966527986478217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-538825134834187144.post-10813839665166409582011-10-04T16:41:15.562-04:002011-10-04T16:41:15.562-04:00Did you confuse Lordship Salvation? It would seem to me this PRECLUDES 2 tiers of christians and it would be the other view that would allow for a class of christians who have accepted Christ as savior but not Lord, this creating two tiers. Have I misunderstood?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-538825134834187144.post-71916914818183556322011-10-04T15:07:26.790-04:002011-10-04T15:07:26.790-04:00Trevin not Trevor. You talk about the individual gospel journey(Gospel Wakefulness)and making Christ supreme in everything, but never in terms of a "second blessing." So to say that it could lead to a psuedo-Wesleyan belief undercuts the progressive notion of Gospel Wakefulness("Gospel Driven Sanctification").
You write,
"What the Christian church needs today in its imperfect fumbling back to the beauty of gospel centrality is a stubborn unmuddling of law grace. We cannot continue to treat the gospel as it it is [only] the power of God for a conversion experience but not for total life transformation. Sanctification and justification are 'events' in the golden chain of salvation, sure, but both are equally powered by the gospel of grace."

I like Trevor and his work, but shook my head when I read that particular critique.

ThanksOpen Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04470334237252844259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-538825134834187144.post-89746361106408223852011-10-04T11:50:12.185-04:002011-10-04T11:50:12.185-04:00Thank you guys for modeling how to dialogue in gra...Thank you guys for modeling how to dialogue in grace and truth.

JTJThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07870180415697038018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-538825134834187144.post-22460259557514378252011-10-04T10:53:20.668-04:002011-10-04T10:53:20.668-04:00Great explanation.
